The recent incident involving a racist encounter between a Black woman Amazon driver and a discriminatory resident in a luxury Texas building serves as a stark reminder of the persistent racism and discrimination that continue to plague our society. This paper aims to shed light on this incident while also drawing from personal experiences of marginalization as a pair overseeing two churches in a predominantly non-representative community. By sharing these stories, we hope to raise awareness about the ongoing struggles faced by marginalized individuals and the urgent need for societal change.

The Assault on the Black Woman Amazon Driver:

The incident involving the assault on a Black woman Amazon driver by a racist resident in a luxury Texas building highlights the deeply ingrained racism that persists in our society. The driver, simply performing her job, was subjected to verbal and physical abuse solely based on the color of her skin. This incident is a painful reminder that racial discrimination continues to exist and that we must actively work towards eradicating it.

Personal Experiences “of Marginalization: not too longvsgo, I accepted an appointment to pastor two churches. I was elated  The Churches were 99 percent white congregantsvand less than 1 percent black. The town where these churches were located the demograoicd 80 percent white, 2  percent black.”

As a black female pastor overseeing two churches in a town where the majority of the population did not look like us, we have personally experienced discrimination and marginalization. The incident involving the white leader who contacted my home and confronted me, the black pastor, took an unexpected turn when she twisted the narrative, claiming to be afraid of me. However, it was she who initiated the aggressive conversation. To my surprise, she even shared with the District Superintendent that she couldn’t meet with me alone due to her alleged fear. In response, I sought the support of another black pastor who recorded audio evidence, confirming the racist nature of the encounter.

When we arranged a meeting with the District Superintendent and the young lady, my own brother betrayed me for personal gain, stating that I had made a formidable enemy. Despite the strong bond I had with the congregants and their love for me, I realized that it was in my best interest to protect myself by hiring a lawyer, preparing necessary documents, and ultimately leaving the situation behind.

This unfortunate incident sheds light on the power dynamics and prejudices that persist within communities, where individuals who don’t conform to the dominant racial or ethnic identity often face discrimination and are treated as outsiders.

The Impact of Discrimination:

Discrimination and marginalization have far-reaching consequences, both on an individual and community level. The assault on the Black woman Amazon driver and our personal experiences highlight the emotional and psychological toll that racism takes on its victims. It perpetuates a cycle of fear, division, and mistrust, hindering the progress towards a more inclusive and equitable society.

The Urgent Need for Change:

These incidents underscore the urgent need for societal change. It is crucial to challenge and dismantle the systems and beliefs that perpetuate racism and discrimination. Education, awareness, and open dialogue are essential in fostering empathy, understanding, and acceptance within communities. By actively working towards inclusivity and equality, we can create a society where incidents like these become a thing of the past.

To my surprise, she even shared with the District Superintendent that she couldn’t meet with me alone due to her alleged fear. In response, I sought the support of another black pastor for support but unfortunately, he decided to “sell me out for pocket change” by making a back door deal with the DS. (audio captured). The black male pastor confirming the racist nature of the encounter however he decided to accept a back door deal with the DS.

Keep in mind, the black make pastor agreed it was blatant racism and that he would fully support me but that quickly changed.
