Dressing well shows you have respect for yourself and the image you present to the world. But it does more than that. It can help pave the way for future success in the business world.
For the past five years, Dress for Success Rochester, the local chapter of an international non-profit founded by Alyssa Whitfield, has been uplifting and empowering unemployed and underemployed women throughout the Rochester area, providing them with new clothes, new skills and mentor support to boost their confidence, allowing them to take their professional – and personal – lives to the next level.
The organization helps women prepping for job interviews to meet their wardrobe needs (clothing, accessories and makeup), offers job readiness courses on topics like resume writing, interviewing skills and leveraging online job platforms, and sponsors professional networking events.
