How often do you laugh? Like, really, really, laugh? You know, that side-splitting, almost-crying kind of laughter? Probably not nearly enough. They say laughter is the best medicine, and in these stressful times, a hilarious live comedy show can offer a much-needed mental escape. With that in mind, the Rochester comedy scene has been heating up as of late, attracting a mix of rising stars and established talent. The Comedy Club in Webster, which regularly hosts top-tier national stand-up talent, recently drew two big names to its stage: Tommy Davidson and Brandon T. Jackson. Davidson made his name with sketches on the popular 1990s series “In Living Color,” then went on to appear on the big screen in Booty Call, Strictly Business, Ace Venture: When Nature Calls. More recently, he did a cameo in SciFi’s “Sharknado 4.” For his part, Jackson had his breakout Hollywood role in Tropic Thunder, alongside Ben Stiller, Robert Downey, Jr. and Jack Black, before appearing with Martin Lawrence in Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. He went on to play the memorable character, Grover, the wisecracking satyr (man-goat), in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and its sequel, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Our lady-about-town Tunya Griffin (joined by Rochester’s own, comedien Char B) attended the show, chatting with funny men and having a sit-down with both star actor-comedians. Check out the interviews in the clip below.
